Quick notes for an audition for a project with children
19. 9. 2006 // Tim Etchells // Kategorie Randnotizen 2006I guess what we are looking for is:
Can they stand in public and be watched?
Can they look back at the public?
Do they have a sense of what is happening around them – if the person next to them sits down, if the one behind them speaks? Are they comfortable enough to recognise this and play with it?
Can they speak clearly?
Can they play with language?
Can they play in the stage space?

19. 9. 2006 // Tim Etchells // Kategorie Randnotizen 2006I was in New York where I was for 2 or 3 weeks, now I’m in London, in transit and awake at a horrible hour thanks to jetlag, and pretty soon (in a few hours) I fly to Graz where I will be for a week. After that Newcastle (UK) for 5 days (with one night at home en route) and after that finally (!) Gent…. (and after that some time at home for about ten days I am glad to say). So busy, yes.. you can say that. Its Ok tho. Im surviving.
Place implies a presence.

Its a kind of surgical demolition, whose proximity to still-present and functioning buildings (shops, offices, apartments) seems to multiply its violence.
To me there’s always something weird about sites like these, in the middle of a city. [weiter…]
